PAIN FREE & EnJOYing Life Again!

Jennifer decided to try Bowenwork to address her severe neck & back pain due to 3 major accidents that occurred 6 months apart. In August 2014, she was in a car accident. In February 2015, she slipped & fell on concrete and then in August 2015, Jennifer was hit in a head on collision! Despite taking narcotic pain killers, anti-inflammatories, muscle relaxants and having twice weekly chiropractic treatment, Jennifer lived with intense pain. At her first visit on July 2, 2016, Jennifer reported (she reported her back at pain index of 10 & and 8 out of 10 for her neck)that her pain was so debilitating that she was no longer able to workout, unable to do many household chores or self-care; she was also having difficulties keeping up at work. Prior to these accidents, Jennifer was very active & especially, enjoyed working out, wakeboarding and playing golf. Jennifer presented with a significant amount of pain & stiffness and could barely turn her head in either direction.
I recommended 3-4 sessions of Bowenwork to address her neck & back pain, to balance out her body and to break the cycle of stress she was under due to her neck & back pain. I also recommended a break from other therapies to allow her body to make the most benefit of the Bowenwork as possible, except to continue her pain meds as needed. Over the next 3 sessions (on July 9th, 16th & 28th), Jennifer made amazing progress and was able to get back to work and enJOY life again without the severe & intense pain she had been living with since her accidents!

Hello, please be prepared...this is a long read. If you are in pain, tired of the standard pain management regimens, the length of my story is worth it.
In August 2015 I was in a head on collision. The person who hit our vehicle was traveling around 35-40 mph. The accident was horrible, but the injuries seemed catastrophic. I suffered from severe back and neck pain. I could not do any of the activities I loved like wakeboarding, hiking, and working out. I originally sought the standard conventional treatment approach: pain killers, muscle relaxants, and anti-inflammatories. I was going to chiropractic treatments twice a week. The chiropractic treatments were helpful for a short amount of time (about a day); however, the pain still lingered and would start to flare up on the 2nd day.
The pharmaceutical regimen made me nauseous, but I needed to manage the pain and continued on these through July 2016. The pain meds would only last about 4 hrs.
During this time, my mom had met Vickie Fu, and had talked to Vickie about my injuries. My mom knew I was suffering on so many levels, physically, emotionally, mentally. After meeting Vickie, my mom kept recommending me to try Bowenwork. As stubborn as I am, I didn't. I kept thinking that I'd eventually be ok if I just stayed the course.
In November and December of 2015, my chiropractor recommended that I get an MRI and see a pain management doctor. The MRI showed that I had some bulging and tearing discs. I had RFA (radio frequency nerve ablation) to my neck and lower lumbar. The first set of nerves that were ablated I had opted not to be twilight sedated. It was not pleasant. After a week, I felt like I could manage without being on medications around the clock.
However, by March 2016, I had to have an epidural in my neck. I thought it was just another severe flare up. After this, the pain was somewhat manageable, until it wasn't.
My lower lumbar decided to flare up in June 2016. Talk about feeling like taking two steps forward and ten steps back. At this point, I had made the appointment for the epidural for my lumbar. Even after making the appointment, my mom reminded me that I should give Vickie a call. I was exhausted and frustrated that all of the prior treatments had failed, so I finally called Vickie. At this point, my lived with a pain level of 6 out of 10 everyday with flare ups to a 9!!
I had my first appointment with Vickie in July 2016. I could barely walk into the office, turn left or right, without feeling intense pain. During our first session she asked me some questions about how the rest of my body was feeling and my level of functioning. She understood that I had some issues with digestion and movement due to all of the medication I was on. She asked me about allergies, migraines, and menstrual cramps. I told her I had suffered with all of those things. Since it was my first visit, she explained that I may show improvement in these other areas as well with the Bowenwork sessions.
I walked out of that first appointment walking like I had a new body. Vickie was kindly adamant about the amount of water that I would have to drink, and let me know that for the best results, that I would have to alternate between walking or laying flat. I was surprised because for the first time in a long time, I could walk around and feel very little pain! As the first week wore on, I did experience discomfort, but nothing to the severity of my pain before. I believe this was to be expected since I was drinking a ton of water and my body was releasing all of its toxins thanks to Vickie's magical healing hands. After this first session, I was able to get out of bed, walk & “live” without constant screaming in pain. I was also able to significantly reduce my pain medications!!
I also had improvements in all other symptoms that I had listed on my intake form such as my allergies, cramps, migraines and digestive issues!!
I had two more appointments following the first one that were one week apart. I was still in some pain, but nothing like before. After each of these appointments, I felt infinitely better. The detox period and severity was less and less. I was finally able to feel confident enough in my body that I could start working out (elliptical, light weight lifting, longer walks) without having a setback.
After the first 3 appointments a week apart, I believe I had another one or two appointments after that, which were two weeks apart. Since then, I have been for the most part PAIN FREE. It is now December 2016, and I am starting to notice my migraines and cramps are returning, and my neck and back are starting to act up. I think it's time for a tune up with Vickie and her magical healing hands.
Looking back, I really wish I would have listened to my mom and called Vickie sooner. I have spent so much time, money, and emotional energy on Western treatment that I can never get back. If I had seen Vickie sooner, I probably would have been able to have found relief within two or three treatments and would have not had to endure the side effects of more invasive procedures and medications. Thank you Vickie for your healing hands, I am a true believer that BowenWorks Wonders!
